Child Welfare and Attendance

The Child Welfare and Attendance Office is here to support the students and families in a variety of ways.  We provide many services to our students, and the families, too.

Our primary goal in Child Welfare and Attendance is to create the best possible environment for your child to maximize their learning.  We work on interventions in the areas of attendance, discipline, and dropout prevention.  We also provide assistance with the following:

  • Student Registration Requirements

  • School Boundaries and Zones

  • Requests for Out of Zone Exception

  • Address Verification

  • Employment of Minors and Work Permits

  • School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

  • Monroe City School System Consequences of Behavior Policy

  • Student Dress Codes

  • In-School Suspension

  • Alternatives to Suspension

  • Suspension Appeal Hearings

  • Expulsion/Long Term Suspension Hearings

  • Alternative School Placement

  • Transfers to Adult Education and Completion of Age Waivers
    (16-17 Year Olds)
