Superintendent's Message

Mr. Sam Moore, III - Superintendent

Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!

I hope that you all had a productive summer. It is an honor and a privilege for me to open the 2024-2025 school year as the Monroe City Schools District Superintendent. Monroe City Schools is a school district that will focus on creating a respectful and secure learning environment that supports teacher and student growth. We engaged in meaningful summer camps that supported students academically and socially during the summer. Some schools taught students how to grow a garden, while others taught students how to build robots. Each school provided differentiated learning that engaged students in various manners over the summer. Monroe City Schools is home to approximately 8,000 students and serves 19 schools.

Throughout this school year, I look forward to coming to all campuses to build positive professional relationships with every principal and staff member. Monroe City Schools will focus its core values on:

- Respect

- Innovation

- Integrity

- Diversity

- Transparency

- Professionalism

To ensure that Monroe City Schools District is operating as a healthy school system, we will work with the Monroe City School Board, parents, principals, teachers, and community stakeholders. Your involvement is crucial in creating academic gains in the classroom. Parents and families play an integral role in supporting learning by promoting positive attendance and academic goals. Parent involvement makes a significant difference in ensuring regular and consistent school attendance.

As we begin the new school year, I cannot adequately express how blessed I feel to be a part of an amazing district and community that wants to increase literacy and numeracy knowledge for all students. Your support is invaluable, and I look forward to our continued collaboration.
