There's an app for that

With the large number of portable devices that are available to teachers and students (both district issued and personal use at home), it is a great learning opportunity to use these devices for practice and reinforcement of learned skills.  As with any program/application, we encourage parents to look at the application/program to make sure it does what the student needs it to do and that it is on the appropriate level for the student.  Technology is a wonderful tool, but it does not need to be a source of frustration.

Below is a list of applications for iPads and iPhones which can be used to reinforce skills taught during the day.  We encourage parents to locate apps for their children, too.  Remember, while some apps do cost, many can be downloaded for as little as $0.99 or FREE!

Apple has programs called Pages, Numbers, and Keynote which allow word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations to be created.  They are very functional, but be aware each of these costs a minimum of $9.99.
