Unit 4:  Landforms and Topography

Activity 3: Water Impact(SI GLEs: 3, 14, 15, 19, 33; ESS GLEs: 19, 20; SE GLE: 51)

 

CC:  Working in small groups, have students research and construct a model of a delta region, drainage basin, or coastline, using sand, clay, water, rocks, plants, plant trays, baking pans, or stream tables. The students will label the appropriate parts of the model with small flags. Students will develop a report and presentation on their model. They will make a ten-minute presentation to summarize their research and explain their model.

Students can take pictures with a digital camera and insert them into Powerpoint to make a slideshow.  Facts about their model can be typed into the presentation to explain their research.
