Activity 9: Multiplying Large Number Patterns (GLEs: 4, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 42)

CC:  Read the story, Anno's Mysterious Multiplying Jar by Mitsumasa Anno, The King's Chessboard by David Birch, or A Grain of Rice by Demi to the students. Have the students use calculators to compute what will happen next in the story as things multiply. Have them record their findings and discuss the patterns that develop.
