Hello! Thank you for visiting my site. I teach elementary classroom music and choir for Monroe City Schools. I'm usually a pretty nice guy, but my choir students know that at performance time, I'm not quite as patient as at other times. Click here for a picture of me the week before choir festival.
In addition to teaching, I enjoy going to school. Several years ago I completed my my Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the Louisiana Education Consortium, a joint effort of The University of Louisiana at Monroe, Louisiana Tech University, and Grambling State University. Since that time I have continued to take classes and attend workshops. I enjoy sharing what I have learned going back to school, and I have several staff development sessions prepared to present to teachers. I also teach classes for the University of Phoenix Online. Most of my online students are teachers who are working on their Master's degrees.
When I'm not teaching or going to school, I enjoy doing things outside with my family such as camping and canoeing. I am a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. Click here for pictures from my trip to Philmont Scout Ranch. I even tried whitewater rafting once. This picture, which shows me being hit on the head with a paddle, was taken on my way home from a mission trip with some youth from my church. We worked with a group called Mountain T.O.P. (Tennessee Outreach Project) doing home repairs for people in the Cumberland Mountains.
