Excel
You don't have TimeLiner? Let your students construct
a timeline in Excel. Open Excel. Click in Cell A1
and drag across to Cell K1 to highlight the row. Go to
Format and click on Cells. Click on the Alignment tab and
select Merge Cells. Type in a title for your timeline.
Begin your timeline on row 5. In Cell A5 type in the time
you get up in the morning and continue across the row putting
in the times you go to school, eat lunch, do homework, eat dinner,
go to bed, etc. Drop down to row 10. Select Cells
A10 through K10. Go to Format and click on Cells.
Click on the Alignment tab and select Wrap Text. Now, beginning
in Cell A10 key in your activities for the day. Once you
have completed doing this, select Cells A10 through K10,
Go to Format and click on Cells. Click on the Alignment
tab and set the text Orientation to 90 degrees. You
may want to make your timeline longer than columns A through
K if you have more activities during the day.
