| This lesson is an introduction to heredity focusing on the basic
terminology and the introduction of Gregor Mendel as the "Father of
Genetics." |

science. Some students will have limited to no knowledge of computer

Lesson
Procedures:
1. Pass out vocabulary list.
2. Have students define words using textbooks.
3. Students should access the Internet and go to World Book Online or
search the Internet for information on Gregor Mendel. They should
collect and record at least 5 facts about Mendel.
4. Students will use Microsoft Publisher or Kid Pix to make a flyer
containing the information they found about Mendel.
5. Print and save on a floppy disk a copy of flyer and turn in to
teacher. |

Accommodations/Modifications:
Students could use an online dictionary to find the definitions of their
vocabulary words. Make sure you have plenty of library reference
materials in case the Internet is down.
