| This lesson will focus on categorizing items presented.
Objects will be presented and the children will have to sort them into
the proper categories. |

Background
Information:
The student should be able to or be assisted with moving through a web
site, moving items with a mouse. They should be able to follow
directions and name objects. |
Lesson
Procedures:
1. Pick two categories i.e. food and clothing, name them and discuss
them with the kids. Pick one item to represent each category.
(manipulatives, i.e. apple and sock)
2. Show kids pictures of items in the two categories.
3. Have the children name them, give help if needed.
4. Then have the children place the pictures under the object that
represents the appropriate category.
5. You then go to the web and help them find objects in the categories
presented.
6. Print out pictures of the objects found.
7. Use Inspiration 7 to have them once again place objects that go
into each category represented.
8. Using your Venn Diagram have them place the item on one side and
the other.
9. Then you can list how they are alike in the middle section. |
Assessment
Procedures:
Assessments will be made on a percentage bases. Therapist can keep
tally marks to give accurate percentages. Lesson should be repeated
until child achieves 90% over 3 consecutive sessions |
Accommodations/Modifications:
Peer helpers from others in the group, also one on one with the
therapist assisting with computer tasks.

individualized for each students needs. |
Reflections:
The students really love the hands on work and the use of the computer
makes the lessons fun, rather than boring them with the same old drill
work. |
