        Investigates reports of abuse/neglect of children; provides intensive in-home services to families involved in a reported validated incident of abuse/neglect. Provides temporary, substitute care for children who are in need of temporary home care and have been placed by the courts in the custody of the state. Alternate Family Care and Intensive Home-based Services. Workers recruit foster parents and provide training and certification services. They also seek adoptive homes for those children who are freed for adoption by a voluntary act of surrender by the parents or by the termination of parental rights by the court.
