Background Information:
The students will have visited Black Bayou Lake. The students will also have been introduced to all the letters of the alphabets and their sounds, along with being familiar with the writing process.

Lesson Procedures:
Day 1
Teacher will reread the story, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" to the class.

After reading the story, students will recall story pattern and details using a story web.

Day 2
Teacher will tell students that they will now make a class book about what they saw when they went to Black Bayou Lake using the same pattern as in the story, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?". Then, the teacher will ask students to recall what they saw on their trip to Black Bayou Lake.

A story web will be created to name what they saw from memory. For those students who cannot name something, the teacher will show pictures that were taken on the trip.

Each student will be given a time to go to the computer and use KidPix to draw something they saw.  Students will write their own sentence(s) about their drawing.

When all are finished, the teacher will combine drawings, punch holes, and bind drawings with yarn to make a class booklet.

The teacher will also create a slideshow in KidPix with all of their drawings.
